I have actually been coming to Nothing But The Tooth in Sutton Coldfield (NBTT) for longer than it has been NBTT. As patients of the previous practice owner for many years, both my partner and I had the smug satisfaction of knowing we went to the best dentist in the area shattered by his retirement! I cannot stress enough how this made Celia’s job almost impossible to maintain our confidence, satisfaction and frankly our custom. Under the spotlight of our ultra-critical eyes we were expecting to be finding fault with the new arrangements in any and every respect and to be off on our quest to find the new best dentist in the area.
We needn’t have worried, Celia found us.
Under these very difficult circumstances of taking over and then establishing a new practice, Celia set up and then developed NBTT to what it is today. So what do I see when I look at NBTT now? Well we still go to the best dentist in the area, but the most striking thing about it is that it not all about Celia. It is a practice, a group of professionals within a team that look after us as a patient and not just look after your teeth. This is done in a seamless end to end experience of excellence, from initial telephone contact to walking int the door, to painlessly having your treatment, having a chat with the lovely staff, to walking back out again. For me this team effort is the definition of excellence.
I have to say I am not someone who often makes any form of personal recommendation, but when I do I’m always sure to balance any praise with an equal amount of constructive criticism. This is usually easy to do. NBTT is therefore the exception to this rule as I really cannot find fault and I have every confidence that my experience is absolutely indicative of that of others, especially of those who need to their trust in a new dental practice. If you’ve been putting off a visit to the dentist then please don’t, do yourself a a favour and contact NBTT.
In terms of praise where praise is due, that is easy. they are a great team.

All the staff are very helpful, pleasant and nice surroundings. There’s easy parking, value for money, quality, newspapers to read and convenient appointment times. Celia talks you through your treatment, and what needs to be done and how she is going to do it. She always puts you at ease if you are nervous and fills you with confidence.
I can honestly say that Amy thinks more about looking after your teeth than the patient does. She shows you how to use the small in-between toothbrushes on every visit. Nothing is too much trouble and she puts you at ease with a nice smile and pleasant banter.

“I would just like to say how pleased I was with the treatment and professionalism I received from both Celia and her staff at Nothing But The Tooth. The name in itself instils confidence.
I have been scared of dentists for many years now, mainly due to the old gas masks that were used in the 1960’s. From entering the practice until I left I was treated with the utmost professionalism and compassion. I feel if one is made to feel at ease that is half the battle.
I had a root canal procedure carried out. I never felt the needle go in. Throughout the procedure Celia told me what she was doing step by step, and although the procedure was booked for one hour it seemed only a short time from going into the surgery to coming out and it was all complete. I truly cannot emphasise how good this dental practice is.

“After 32 years of not visiting a dentist because of bad experiences and painful treatment my teeth were really in a bad way, and I knew something had to be done. After visiting Celia’s website, I e-mailed and received a lovely reply. She even said I could make a free appointment just to meet the staff if I wanted. I drove past the surgery but at that point dared not go in, but I had a gut feeling something felt right and I made the decision to phone when I got home.
It wasn’t easy but I phoned and spoke to a lady called Sarah who gave me the reassurance that I was looking for. I put down the phone confident I’d made the right decision…I’d made a new patient appointment!! So the day came and yes I was scared but also determined. I was welcomed by Sarah, who made me a coffee. Celia then came into the waiting area and greeted me with a big smile. She was very pleasant and we sat in the waiting area for 5 minutes or so drinking coffee before venturing into the surgery to be greeted by Dental Nurse Laura.
Celia asked if I’d like to go through with the examination and guaranteed it wouldn’t hurt. She explained at all times what she going to do and what tools she was going to use. It didn’t hurt and I walked out smiling. I even made an appointment to go back for 3 fillings. I can honestly say I never felt any pain whatsoever. I didn’t even feel the injection; that might be hard for people reading this to believe that but it’s true. She knows exactly what she’s doing and made a perfect job of the fillings – all composites on front teeth and you can’t even see where she’s done it; brilliant. I think the attitude of the staff is very important for nervous people like myself, who need that reassurance. You can tell they are genuinely friendly. There is an atmosphere when you walk in the door, hard to describe but it’s a really nice feeling (never thought I’d say that about a dentist!)
So to sum up, if you are looking for a dentist who is gentle, friendly, won’t lecture you, and will definitely not hurt you I can certainly recommend Celia and the staff at Nothing But The Tooth.

Celia took over from my old dentist who had retired. After years of trying to keep my teeth, because of gum problems, she has turned my dental hygiene around.
