Celebrating Georgie’s Radiography Qualification!
We’re delighted to share some fantastic news — our Patient Care Coordinator and Dental Nurse, Georgie, has successfully completed her Dental Radiography Qualification!
Over the past few months, Georgie has shown tremendous dedication, completing her x-ray training and studying for the demanding final exam, which she passed first time. This achievement reflects her commitment to professional growth and to providing the very best care for our patients.
Why Radiography Training Matters
Dental nurses are not automatically qualified to take x-rays. In the UK, dental nurses first complete a recognised dental nursing qualification and register with the General Dental Council (GDC). To take dental radiographs, they must then complete an additional post-qualification course in dental radiography.
This extra training ensures that nurses gain a thorough understanding of:
- Radiation safety and protection protocols
- How to position patients and equipment correctly
- Producing diagnostic-quality images
- Legal and ethical responsibilities when taking radiographs
By completing this advanced qualification, Georgie is now fully qualified to take dental x-rays under the prescription of a dentist — helping to make our appointments even smoother and more efficient.
A Big Well Done!
We are really proud of Georgie’s hard work and dedication. Her achievement not only strengthens our clinical team but also enhances the care and convenience we can offer our patients every day.
